1. Oconomowoc
Head coach: Arno Kirchenwitz
2016 record: 9-7 in conference play

Oconomowoc finished in fourth place in the Wisconsin Little Ten last year and was eliminated from the postseason by Sun Prairie. Oconomowoc returns three of the top players in the Little Ten in Zach Clayton, Sean Meyer and Jonah Landowski. Clayton ranks as one of the top shortstops in the state, according to Perfect Game, and he was also an All-State third team selection by the coaches association.

2. Sun Prairie
Head coach: Rob Hamilton
2016 record: 23-6

Winner of three straight state championships earlier in the decade, Sun Prairie reached the quarterfinals of the Division 1 state tournament before falling to top-seeded Arrowhead. Infielder Walker Jenkins, who earned All-District honorable mention honors, is the top returning player for Sun Prairie.

3. Kimberly
Head coach: Ryan McGinnis
2016 record: 24-5 Kimberly went deep into the Division 1 playoffs last year, advancing to the semifinals before falling to top-seeded Arrowhead. While All-State outfielder Ben Carew has graduated, honorable mention All-State infielder Daniel VandenBoom is back after batting .346 last year.

4. Catholic Memorial (Waukesha)
Head coach: Jim Rickert
2016 record: 16-12

Catholic Memorial reached the Division 2 sectional finals before falling to Milwaukee Lutheran. Catholic Memorial could have the makings of a strong pitching staff as Ben Dragnani, one of the top-ranked pitchers in the state according to Perfect Game, returns to the mound along with righthander Andy Stekiel.

5. Arrowhead (Hartland)
Head coach: Nick Brengosz
2016 record: 29-3

Arrowhead was the No. 1 seed throughout the Division 1 playoffs, but fell to Burlington in the championship game. Although four All-State players have graduated, including State Pitcher of the Year Ryan Schmitt, Arrowhead still figures to be in the mix thanks to the return of All-State honorable mention selection Tanner Williams.
