Basketball Recap: Isaiah Deberry's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Gibson County over Peabody

Gibson County lost against Peabody two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Gibson County Pioneers received a blow as they fell 81-63 to the Peabody Golden Tide. While losing is never fun, the Pioneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Golden Tide are ranked 66th).

Gibson County's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah Deberry, who posted 18 points. Another player making a difference was Kylan Finch, who scored 13 points.

Gibson County has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-17 record this season. The victory made it two in a row for Peabody and bumps their season record up to 23-5.

As of now, neither Gibson County nor Peabody have any future games scheduled.
