Basketball Recap: Saranac's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Saranac waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They took down the Peru Nighthawks 50-34. This was a revenge game for the Spartans: when they faced off against the Nighthawks back in February, they had to take a 58-52 loss.

Despite the loss, Peru still got an impressive performance from Reese Duprey, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds. The match was Duprey's sixth in a row with at least 15 points. Maggie Garrow was another key player, putting up six points and six boards.

Saranac's win bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Peru, with the defeat, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-4.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Saranac will take on Voorheesville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Peru, they will square off against Albany Academy for Girls at 7:30 p.m. on March 12th. Albany Academy for Girls will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Peru surely won't give up without a fight.
