Basketball Recap: Crestview Has No Trouble Against Tate

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Crestview had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Tate Aggies with a sharp 46-25 win. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Aggies are ranked 382nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Natalie Toney was her usual excellent self, putting up 15 points in addition to seven boards and seven steals. Her evening made it nine games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Aundreea Penn was another key player, earning six points along with six rebounds and five steals.

Crestview smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 30 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive matches.

Crestview has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Tate, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.

Crestview has already played their next contest (against Milton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Tate does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
