Softball Recap: Greenback Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

Greenback and Harriman pushed the score to 17-16 the last time they played Harriman, but on Monday defenses reigned supreme. The Cherokees never let the Blue Devils get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 17-16 win back in April.

The result came thanks to Kendi Brooks's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Emma Anderson was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March.

Greenback pushed their record up to 7-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Harriman, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.

Coming up, Greenback will take on Oakdale at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Cherokees surely won't give up without a fight. Harriman does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
