Basketball Recap: Horizon Takes a Loss

Horizon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Edgewater Eagles 89-47. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 628th, while the Eagles are ranked 41st).

Horizon lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Bradley Webb, who posted 11 points along with five boards and three steals. What's more, Webb also racked up four assists, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Diego Rojas was another key player, putting up 12 points and five rebounds.

Horizon's defeat dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Edgewater, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Horizon will venture away from home to take on Wekiva at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Edgewater, they will take on North Tampa Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
