Softball Recap: Demopolis Tigers vs. Thomasville Tigers
Demopolis extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 11-21 in the process. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Thomasville. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against Thomasville this season, with their most recent defeat being a 7-1 loss back in March.
As for Thomasville, their win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 26-9. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games.
For Thomasville's part, they got a big performance out of Denaijah Scott, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Those two hits gave Scott a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of M L Drinkard, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Demopolis and Thomasville should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings. The Tigers will take on Selma at 11:00 a.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (173 vs. 370). Meanwhile, Thomasville (ranked 72nd) will meet Washington County (ranked 229th) at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
