Basketball Game Preview: Portsmouth Christian Patriots vs. Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot Knights

The Portsmouth Christian Patriots will square off against the Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Portsmouth Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot likes a good challenge.

Portsmouth Christian will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Atlantic Shores Christian, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Portsmouth Christian snuck past Atlantic Shores Christian with a 59-55 victory on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 61-57 to Banner Christian.

Portsmouth Christian will need to focus on slowing down John Loftin, one of several Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 18 points along with six assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of JonMichael Lee, who on his way to 15 points.

Portsmouth Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 20 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.2 points over those games. Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot's defeat dropped their record down to 18-6.
