Bristol is 0-10 against Dock Mennonite since April of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Warriors will head out to square off against the Pioneers at 3:45 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Dock Mennonite will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Bristol extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday. The Warriors blew past Jenkintown 11-1. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Warriors considering their two-run performance the game before.
Trae Anthony was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Anthony was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Bristol let Dom Capriotti and Cole Guy run wild. Capriotti went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Guy went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Capriotti has posted since back in March of 2024. Eddy Diaz was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Bristol always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jenkintown only posted an OBP of .250.
Meanwhile, Dock Mennonite got the win against Calvary Christian Academy on Tuesday by a conclusive 10-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pioneers.
Ethan Kratz and Brayden Kratz did most of the damage at the plate: Ethan went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs, while Brayden went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Ethan also put up a triple, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Rylan Purnell, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Bristol's record is now 12-4. As for Dock Mennonite, their record now sits at 11-3.
Thursday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Bristol has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .528. However, it's not like Dock Mennonite struggles in that department as they've averaged .497. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bristol couldn't quite get it done against Dock Mennonite when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 8-4. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
