Softball Game Preview: Polson Pirates vs. Whitefish Bulldogs

Polson is a perfect 3-0 against Whitefish since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Pirates will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Polson has four straight victories, Whitefish has eight straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Polson's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Browning as they made off with a 24-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won four matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Madison Turner made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). Turner was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That hit marked the first that she has got this season.

In other batting news, Jaliyah Pierre was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and four RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

Polson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Whitefish lost 17-1 to Columbia Falls on Tuesday.

Whitefish's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Polson, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0-1.

Polson took their win against Whitefish when the teams last played on Monday by a conclusive 19-0 score. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
