Basketball Recap: Willsboro Central Takes a Loss

Willsboro Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 77-21 loss at the hands of the Boquet Valley Griffins. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-25 back in December of 2024.

Carson Leibeck continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Boquet Valley, dropping a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds. The matchup was Leibeck's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Jackson Pettit was another key player, putting up 14 points and six steals.

Willsboro Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Boquet Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Willsboro Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-38 loss against Johnsburg Central on the 18th. As for Boquet Valley, they will head out on the road to take on Bolton Central at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bolton Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Boquet Valley likes a good challenge.
