Volleyball Recap: Rio Hondo Prep Comes Up Short

The Rio Hondo Prep Kares didn't have quite enough to beat the Rim of the World Fighting Scots on Monday and fell 3-2.

Rio Hondo Prep took Rim of the World into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking nine-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-23, 19-25, 23-25, 15-6.

Tara Riley paced Rio Hondo Prep's offense, picking up seven kills. Riley got some help from Allie Scott and her ten assists. Evonny Ortega controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Rio Hondo Prep dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Rim of the World, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Rio Hondo Prep has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Duarte on the 14th. As for Rim of the World, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Excelsior Charter on the 12th.
