Basketball Game Preview: Boron Bobcats vs. Mammoth Huskies

The Boron Bobcats will face off against the Mammoth Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Boron is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Back in December of 2024, Boron lost to Kern Valley on the road by a 52-37 margin.

Loss or not, Boron got some senior leadership from Moses Garcia and Isreal Flores. Garcia dropped a double-double on 15 points and 19 boards, while Flores posted 13 points. With that strong performance, Garcia is now averaging an impressive 8.5 rebounds per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Josue Magallanes, who earned five points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Meanwhile, in a tight matchup that could have gone either way, Mammoth made off with a 1-0 win over Immanuel Christian. The one-point effort marked the Huskies' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Boron's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Mammoth, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-7.

Boron might still be hurting after the 65-39 loss they got from Mammoth in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Boron avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
