Basketball Recap: Cherokee Indians vs. Richland Springs Coyotes
The Cherokee Indians's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 47-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Richland Springs. Cherokee has not had much luck with the Coyotes recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Richland Springs' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Connor Womack, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jayden Sutherland, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Cherokee's loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-6. As for Richland Springs, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.
Cherokee will head out on the road to face off against the Hornets at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Rochelle is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Richland Springs, they will be playing at home against the Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lometa is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
