Basketball Game Preview: Canton Little Giants vs. Pekin Dragons

Canton hasn't had much luck against Pekin recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Canton Little Giants will take on the Pekin Dragons at 3:00 p.m. Pekin took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Canton, who comes in off a win.

Last Saturday, Canton strolled past Geneseo with points to spare, taking the game 44-29.

Meanwhile, Pekin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 63-38 to Metamora. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 298th, while the Redbirds are ranked 23rd).

Canton's win bumped their record up to 10-14. As for Pekin, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-15.

Canton came up short against Pekin in their previous matchup back in January, falling 55-42. Can Canton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
