Soccer Game Preview: Collegiate vs. Potomac School

The Collegiate Cougars will take on the Potomac School Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Collegiate is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Virginia's top teams: Christchurch School, who was ranked fourth at the time (Collegiate was ranked fifth). The Cougars and the Seahorses finished up their matchup with a 1-1 draw on Tuesday. There's a chance things could've gone differently had Collegiate not been charged with a red card from Reid Campbell.

Meanwhile, Potomac School kept a clean sheet against Saint James on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Saints with a sharp 4-0 win. Potomac School haven't had any issues with Saint James recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Collegiate's draw gives them a new season record of 7-1-2. As for Potomac School, their win bumped their record up to 5-2-2.

Collegiate skirted past Potomac School 2-1 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
