Recap: Natchez Bulldogs vs. Florence Eagles
After a string of five wins, the Natchez Bulldogs's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They received a tough blow as they fell 54-40 to Florence. Natchez has struggled against Florence recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Natchez's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of RONIYA ELLIS, who scored 19 points along with two steals, and ZAMONIE WILSON who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals. ELLIS is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Natchez's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-6. As for Florence, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Natchez will take on Provine at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Provine will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while Natchez is ranked 77th). As for Florence, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Jones at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
