Soccer Game Preview: St. Catherine's vs. Steward

The St. Catherine's Saints will head out on the road to face off against the Steward Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

On Wednesday, St. Catherine's didn't have quite enough to beat Saint Gertrude and fell 2-1.

St. Catherine's goal came courtesy of Claire Mansfield, which was the first she's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Steward unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of Virginia Academy by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday.

St. Catherine's took their win against Steward in their previous meeting back in March of 2015 by a conclusive 10-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Catherine's since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
