Basketball Game Preview: Inglewood Sentinels vs. Windward Wildcats

The Inglewood Sentinels will face off against the Windward Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Inglewood is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 16 games.

Inglewood is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They walked away with an 80-69 win over Westlake. Given the Sentinels' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while the Warriors are ranked 106th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Jason Crowe Jr, who went 15-for-26 en route to 40 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. The matchup was his 26th in a row with at least 18 points. Parker Jefferson was another key player, dropping a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds.

Inglewood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Windward earned a 68-58 victory over La Habra on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Windward's win bumped their record up to 21-7. As for Inglewood, their victory was their 14th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 28-4.

Inglewood ended up a good deal behind Windward in their previous matchup back in December of 2021, losing 61-47. Can Inglewood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
