Reno benefitted from Long in 13-12 win
Winning always takes teamwork, but in Saturday's first game Ashlynn Long stepped things up a notch to give Reno the 'W'. Damonte Ranch had no answer to Long as she pitched eight innings while giving up just one earned (and 11 unearned) runs off 13 hits.
Long's strong effort led Reno over Damonte Ranch and she'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. in Saturday's second game. Long has dominated as far as walks are concerned (she's averaged 1.9 per game this season), but she's got her work cut out for her considering Damonte Ranch has only allowed 3.77 per game this season.
