Basketball Recap: Nashua-Plainfield Comes Up Short

If Nashua-Plainfield was riding high fresh off their 54-16 takedown of Tripoli last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Nashua-Plainfield Huskies fell 50-37 to the Riceville Wildcats on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while the Wildcats are ranked 52nd).

Nashua-Plainfield's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Riceville, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nashua-Plainfield will square off against Central Springs at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Riceville, they will challenge Turkey Valley at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
