Basketball Recap: Westerville North Comes Up Short

Westerville North lost against Worthington Kilbourne back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Westerville North Warriors were beaten by the Worthington Kilbourne Wolves 59-28. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 581st, while the Wolves are ranked 115th).

Oliviah Wilkerson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 20 points and ten boards for Worthington Kilbourne. Wilkerson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Audrey Bennett, who posted eight points and four steals.

Westerville North's defeat dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Worthington Kilbourne, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.

Coming up, Westerville North won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bishop Watterson at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Worthington Kilbourne, they will take on Teays Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Worthington Kilbourne's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Teays Valley has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
