Custer County extends home winning streak to ten

Recap: Custer County Bobcats vs. Cripple Creek-Victor Pioneers

There's no place like home for the Custer County Bobcats, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against Cripple Creek-Victor by a score of 47-37 on Monday. That's another feather in the cap for Custer County, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Among those leading the charge was Christopher Mullett, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. He hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Levi Caricner, who scored 12 points along with two steals.

Cripple Creek-Victor lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Luciano Varas, who scored 12 points. Varas' trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Tony Woods was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.

Custer County pushed their record up to 4-3 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for Cripple Creek-Victor, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Custer County will square off against Lamar at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Lamar focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday. As for Cripple Creek-Victor, they will head out on the road to square off against Hanover at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Hanover focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Friday.
