The Denison Yellow Jackets will be home for the holidays to greet the McKinney North Bulldogs at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Denison will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 530th, while McKinney North is ranked 49th).
After soaring to 63 points the game before, Denison were a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They took a serious blow against Princeton, falling 62-19. Denison has struggled against Princeton recently, as their match on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, McKinney North took their matchup at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 70-23 win over Sherman. The victory made it back-to-back wins for McKinney North.
Ryhan Balous went supernova for McKinney North, going 9 for 13 from beyond the arc en route to 29 points and 1 assists. Those 29 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Ciara Harris, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Denison now has a losing record at 9-10. As for McKinney North, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-8 record this season.
Denison lost to McKinney North at home by a decisive 51-33 margin in their previous meeting back in January. Can Denison avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
