Soccer Game Preview: Erie vs. Lewis-Palmer

The Erie Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Lewis-Palmer Rangers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Erie is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Cherry Creek, who was ranked fourth at the time (Erie was ranked 12th). Neither the Tigers nor the Bruins could gain the upper hand on Saturday so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw. Erie's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Lewis-Palmer was not quite Lutheran's equal in the second half on Thursday. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 1-0. Lewis-Palmer haven't had much luck with Lutheran recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

With that draw, Erie's record moves to 5-0-2. As for Lewis-Palmer, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2-2.

Erie took their win against Lewis-Palmer in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 4-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
