The Rodriguez Mustangs will square off against the Archbishop Mitty Monarchs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Rodriguez 2.7, Archbishop Mitty 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Rodriguez is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Northgate with a sharp 14-4 victory. Considering the Mustangs have won 14 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Bennett Giaramitta looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Rodriguez got a massive performance out of Benjaman 'BJ' Smith, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs Smith has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Tavin Schmidt, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Archbishop Mitty had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 7-2.
Jonah Ferrell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits.
At the plate, Archbishop Mitty let Felix Chang and Ethan Chase run wild. Chang went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Chase went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Archbishop Mitty is undefeated when Chang posts two or more runs, but 10-11 otherwise. Andre Lopez-Monsivais was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Rodriguez's win bumped their record up to 25-8. As for Archbishop Mitty, their victory bumped their record up to 19-11.
