Caney Valley took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Humboldt, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bullpups came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cubs on Tuesday, sneaking past 4-2. This was a revenge game for the Bullpups: when they faced off against the Cubs on Tuesday, they had to take a 6-0 defeat.

Caney Valley's win bumped their record up to 7-4-3. As for Humboldt, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 11-1 and their overall record down to 12-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Caney Valley is set to challenge their familiar foe Bluestem on Friday. Meanwhile, Humboldt will take on rival Neodesha on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cubs 2.2, the Blue Streaks 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
