McDowell won the last time they faced Mountain Heritage and things went their way on Monday too. The Titans put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 20-5 win. Considering the Titans have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Keller Bradley made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. McDowell is 2-1 when Bradley allows two or fewer hits, but 6-7 otherwise. Bradley was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, McDowell got a massive performance out of Jacob Davis, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Davis is becoming a predictor of the Titans' success: when he posts at least one home run the team is undefeated (and 5-8 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Kaine Boone, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
McDowell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain Heritage only posted a batting average of .286.
The victory got McDowell back to even at 8-8. As for Mountain Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.
McDowell wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 4-1 loss against Asheville on the 15th. As for Mountain Heritage, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-0 win against Avery County on the 15th.
