Softball Recap: Higley Takes a Loss

Higley came into this matchup off a tough 19-run defeat last Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Desert Ridge Jaguars by a score of 6-4 on Tuesday. The Knights were not able to make up for their loss to the Jaguars from their previous meeting back in April of 2016.

Zoie Van Hoek was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Samantha Parisi was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Higley has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14-1 record this season. As for Desert Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Desert Ridge beat Higley by a score of 8-7 on Thursday.
