Preview: Riverside Generals vs. Sandalwood Saints
The Riverside Generals will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sandalwood Saints at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Riverside is not getting complacent, as they comes into the match much higher ranked than Sandalwood in Florida (Riverside is ranked 78th, while Sandalwood is ranked 307th).
Last Friday, everything came up roses for Riverside at home against Andrew Jackson as the squad secured a 47-8 win. The result was nothing new for Riverside, who have now won three matchups by 33 points or more so far this season.
Riverside's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kennvontae Sharrow, who rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Sandalwood, who are still winless after their seventh game. They fell 14-6 to Atlantic Coast on Friday.
Riverside is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Sandalwood, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 0-7.
Riverside strolled past Sandalwood when the teams last played back in October of 2022 by a score of 14-0. Will Riverside repeat their success, or does Sandalwood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
