Volleyball Game Preview: Henley Hornets vs. Cascade Cougars

The Henley Hornets will face off against the Cascade Cougars at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Henley heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Friday. They lost 3-0 to The Dalles. The Hornets' defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Henley took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-20, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Cascade faced Marist in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Cougars came up short against the Spartans, falling 3-0. The loss continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Spartans: they've now lost three in a row.

While Cascade was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-15, 25-23.

Cascade's defeat dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Henley, their loss dropped their record down to 21-5.

Henley might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Cascade when the teams last played back in November of 2022. Can the Hornets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
