Basketball Recap: Brighton Snags Seventh Victory in Last Nine Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Munford, Brighton was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They had just enough and edged the Covington Chargers out 57-55. This was a revenge game for the Cardinals: when they faced off against the Chargers on January 7th, they had to take a 62-59 loss.

Brighton is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Covington, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-8.

Brighton and Covington should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. Brighton (ranked 118th) will meet Craigmont (ranked 344th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Covington will square off against Raleigh-Egypt at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 145 places (134 vs. 279).
