Volleyball Recap: Grace Academy Comes Up Short

Grace Academy lost against St. Stephen's Episcopal two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Grace Academy fell just short of St. Stephen's Episcopal by a score of 3-2. Grace Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Grace Academy took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 19-25, 18-25, 25-23, 15-5.

Ryah Roberson paced Grace Academy's offense, picking up 16 kills. Roberson got some help from Ella Carleton and her 23 assists. Aven Roberson controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Sydney Gray was nothing short of spectacular for St. Stephen's Episcopal: she had 29 digs and two assists. Those 29 digs gave Gray a new career-high. April Song also deserves some recognition as she had her first digs of the season.

Grace Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 14-4. As for St. Stephen's Episcopal, their win bumped their record up to 11-16.

Grace Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Methodist Children's Home on the 18th. As for St. Stephen's Episcopal, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Trinity Valley on the 19th.
