Recap: West Holmes Knights vs. New Philadelphia Quakers

The West Holmes Knights lost against the New Philadelphia Quakers back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. West Holmes fell 46-36 to New Philadelphia. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for West Holmes in their matchups with New Philadelphia: they've now lost seven in a row.

West Holmes' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nate Fair, who scored ten points. The game was Fair's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sam Sprang, who scored 11 points.

Even though they lost, West Holmes were working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

West Holmes' defeat was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-3. As for New Philadelphia, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

West Holmes will head out on the road to face off against Wooster at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. New Philadelphia will be home for the holidays to greet Ashland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ashland has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
