Soccer Game Preview: Martin County vs. Vero Beach

The Martin County Tigers and the Vero Beach Indians will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Martin County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.6 goals per game this season.

Vero Beach better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Martin County really get things going. Martin County's defense stepped up to hand Palm Beach Lakes a 4-0 shutout on Thursday. Considering the Tigers have won three contests by more than three goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Palm Beach Lakes with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Alex Linares (2), Melvin Pabon, and Shiloh Reese.

Meanwhile, Vero Beach beat St. Edward's 2-0 on Friday.

Martin County pushed their record up to 8-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four matchups. As for Vero Beach, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6-2.
