Baseball Recap: Durham Has No Trouble Against Colusa

Durham hadn't done well against Colusa recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Durham put the hurt on Colusa with a sharp 9-3 win. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by six runs or more this season.

Christian Koehler looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Durham's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is 4-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Jack Drake was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Durham is undefeated when Drake posts two or more runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brady Doyle, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

The victory made it two in a row for Durham and bumps their season record up to 6-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Colusa, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.
