Softball Recap: Tampa Catholic Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

The Tampa Catholic Crusaders came up short against the Trinity Catholic Celtics on Tuesday and fell 5-1.

Olivia Ricciardi spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

Tampa Catholic's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-6. As for Trinity Catholic, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-6.

Tampa Catholic and Trinity Catholic should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Crusaders (ranked 50th) will meet Chamberlain (ranked 276th) at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Trinity Catholic will challenge Taylor at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (66 vs. 234).
