The Hough Huskies will face off against the Myers Park Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hough is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
On Thursday, Hough got the win against North Mecklenburg by a conclusive 19-2. The result was nothing new for the Huskies, who have now won ten games by 11 runs or more so far this season.
Aubrey Martin made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Olivia Bechtel was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Amie Reinhart was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Hough hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in ten consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Myers Park was a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Charlotte Catholic.
Anna Eason spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits.
At the plate, Madeline Shuford was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.
Hough pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Myers Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.
Hough's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's game. The Huskies have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Myers Park, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Hough continue to outrun the ball?
