Basketball Recap: Inglemoor Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Inglemoor can now relate to. They fell 59-49 to the Mercer Island Islanders on Thursday. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Islanders earlier this season, when they won 65-55.

Mercer Island's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anna Marsh, who went 7-for-11 en route to 21 points in addition to seven assists and seven boards. Those 21 points gave Marsh a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Clara Stowe, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Inglemoor's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Mercer Island, their victory bumped their record up to 7-14.

Inglemoor has already played their next contest, a 48-34 loss against Roosevelt on the 15th. As for Mercer Island, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-49 win against West Seattle on the 15th.
