Basketball Recap: Middletown Comes Up Short

Middletown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 66-34 defeat at the hands of the Bristol Central Rams. While losing is never fun, the Blue Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Rams are ranked 14th).

Despite the loss, Middletown saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Rielle Jackson posted 15 points. Yori Perri-Rice was another key player, putting up six points and six boards.

Middletown's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Bristol Central, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-4.

Middletown will take on Bristol Eastern at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Bristol Central, they will challenge Hall at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bristol Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Hall likes a good challenge.
