Softball Recap: Shepherd Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Shepherd and Farwell pushed the score to 19-0 the last time they played Farwell, but on Tuesday defenses reigned supreme. The Bluejays never let the Eagles get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Bluejays in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Not much got past Lylah Curtiss, who gave up just two hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Farwell off the board.

At the plate, Shepherd's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Carli Dubois, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Lillian Loonsfoot also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Shepherd's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-11. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Farwell, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-9.

Shepherd will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair will be back at it again later today.
