Baseball Recap: Ashville Gets the Win

The third road contest was the charm for Ashville, as they earned their first road win of the season. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over Geraldine on Saturday. Ashville hasn't had any issues with Geraldine recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Ashville got a big performance out of Hunter Morphis, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. What's more, Morphis posted three hits, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Justin Henderson, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

Ashville now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Geraldine, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ashville will take on Weaver at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Weaver has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.3 runs per game on average), something Ashville will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Geraldine, they will square off against Pisgah at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
