Football Game Preview: Pahrump Valley Trojans vs. Moapa Valley Pirates

Pahrump Valley hasn't had much luck against Moapa Valley recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Trojans will venture away from home to face off against the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

On Friday, Pahrump Valley got the win against Democracy Prep Agassi Campus by a conclusive 36-12. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won four contests by 24 points or more so far this season.

The critical scores for Pahrump Valley came from Josh Slusher, Austin Alvarez, Preston Doctor, Gideon Wydick, and Kayne Horibe.

Meanwhile, Moapa Valley entered their tilt with Boulder City on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Eagles 44-8. With the Pirates ahead 26-2 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Pahrump Valley better keep an eye on Briggs Hickman. He was instrumental in Moapa Valley's win, rushing for 101 yards and three scores on only 12 carries. Hickman has become a key player for the Pirates: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.

Moapa Valley now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Pahrump Valley, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Pahrump Valley lost to Moapa Valley on the road by a decisive 49-35 margin when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
