Alahni Lovett leads Lakewood to victory over Keswick Christian

Recap: Lakewood Spartans vs. Keswick Christian Crusaders

The Lakewood Spartans entered their tilt with the Keswick Christian Crusaders with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Lakewood came out on top against Keswick Christian by a score of 63-56 on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

It was another big night for Alahni Lovett, who scored 27 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last six games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Riana Callihan, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and five blocks.

When it comes to explaining why Keswick Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ava Graham. Despite the final result, she scored 25 points. Graham is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Hannah Jantomaso, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Keswick Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakewood only pulled down 11 offensive rebounds.

Lakewood pushed their record up to 15-4 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points per game. As for Keswick Christian, their defeat ended a 13-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 17-4.

Lakewood will take on Hollins at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hollins will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 609th, while Lakewood is ranked 63rd). As for Keswick Christian, Keswick Christian and Largo will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
