Basketball Recap: Elder Comes Up Short

Elder was the 40-34 winner over Mason when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers took a 43-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Comets on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 264th, while the Comets are ranked 20th).

Elder dropped their record down to 6-13 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Mason, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Elder will host Wyoming at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mason, they will challenge Cincinnati College Prep Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
