It was a good run, but Marshall unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Greencastle Tiger Cubs by a score of 45-42. The contest marked the Lions' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Greencastle's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sam Gooch, who posted 14 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Taygan McRoberts, who had eight points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Marshall's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Greencastle, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

Marshall will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Altamont at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Greencastle, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Terre Haute North Vigo at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Terre Haute North Vigo's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches.
