Football Recap: Bonita Springs' Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road + How To Watch

The third road matchup was the charm for Bonita Springs, as they earned their first away win of the season. They came out on top against the Palmetto Ridge Bears by a score of 19-12 on Friday. For the Bullsharks, this counts as revenge for the 20-0 victory the Bears walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Keegan O'Connell looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 164 yards, while also throwing for 57 yards and one TD. That's the most passing yards he has posted since back in August of 2024.

O'Connell was just one part of a punishing run game: Bonita Springs was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 274 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palmetto Ridge only rushed for 159 rushing yards.

Bonita Springs' win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3. As for Palmetto Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Bonita Springs and Palmetto Ridge will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Bullsharks will square off against rival Aubrey Rogers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Palmetto Ridge is set to face off against their familiar foe Gulf Coast at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
