The Erskine Academy Eagles will take on the Medomak Valley Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Erskine Academy will be strutting in after a win while Medomak Valley will be coming in after a defeat.
Erskine Academy had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Maine Central Institute on Thursday. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Huskies. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Finn Vinci made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Jacob Lavallee was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Griffin Hayden, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Erskine Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Maine Central Institute struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, Medomak Valley has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 2.43 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of Leavitt.
Jaydiin Ruiz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Walker Simmons was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Erskine Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-9-1. As for Medomak Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Erskine Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Medomak Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
