Baseball Recap: Lincoln Prep's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Lincoln Prep's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Everything went their way against the Miami Vandals as Lincoln Prep made off with a 10-0 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Lightning's hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Finn Dilley made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cash Luce, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Karson Smith also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Lincoln Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

With the victory, Lincoln Prep broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-5-1. As for Miami, their defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Lincoln Prep didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-5 win against North Valley Christian Academy on the 26th. As for Miami, they have also already played their next match, a 10-0 loss against St. John Paul II Catholic on the 24th.
