Baseball Game Preview: Charlotte Christian Knights vs. A.C. Flora Falcons

The Charlotte Christian Knights will take on the A.C. Flora Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

A.C. Flora will be up against a hot Charlotte Christian team: the squad just extended their winning streak to nine. The Knights' pitchers stepped up to hand Charlotte Latin a 6-0 shutout on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by exactly six runs.

Grant Nicholson tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Owen Farrell, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Witt McCammon, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, A.C. Flora had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Cavaliers 12-0.

Charlotte Christian's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for A.C. Flora, their victory bumped their record up to 15-5-1.
